MMMK and Brackley Wind Ensemble

MMMK and Brackley Wind Ensemble

The first of our seasonal Advent/Christmas concerts this year was given by the Music Makers of Milton Keynes, a local community choir, and Brackley Wind Ensemble on 5 December 2015.  They share the same conductor so have often performed together, this was their first performance in St Mary and St Giles Church.  Brian their conductor interspersed the music with Christmas cracker jokes, pulling crackers with the audience and reading out the jokes - he said the music would be better than the jokes and he was certainly right about that as the music all evening was wonderful, with some less known lovely arrangements of some pieces.

There was a happy atmosphere throughout the concert and an audience of over 70 people attended, some of whom sat in the gallery. There was plenty of cake during the interval served with tea, coffee or squash.  I would like to thank David and all the team who came to help with front of house and all the performers for a lovely evening of seasonal music which resulted in £266 being raised for the Organ project.
