Concrete Calves enlivened our Saturday evening with a very fine selection of popular music. We heard ‘March of the Clowns’, ‘March of the Trolls’, ‘Theme from Blackadder’, ‘Camel Dance’, ‘Summertime’, and ‘The Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ to name but a few.

Musical Director, Trish Evans, also illustrated the music with useful information about the various instruments and how a band knows what to do when being led by the conductor.

It was such an uplifting evening, hearing a great variety of music and seeing the obvious enjoyment with which it was played. It was also a pleasure to see these adults, who were returners to their musical journey or recent beginners, making and sharing music.

What a wonderful example of music-making the Concrete Calves Wind Band is. We thank them for being part of our StonyLive! programme and look forward to their next visit.
