Simon and Joe performed songs and solo piano pieces on the theme of parting, travelling and homecoming. Joe not only played the piano, but had also translated the songs not already in English, which greatly enhanced our understanding of Simon’s beautiful singing of them.
The concert featured nine composers, one of whom was the Ukrainian Sergei Bortkiewicz. Joe directed us to hear another piece from this composer via https://www.youtube/watch?v=q-JzjaC_Gfw where donations to relief funds are also welcome.
Donations for Ukraine totalled £202 so thank you to Simon and Joe for giving of their time and talents so freely to raise funds and to entertain us.
