SMSG Church Band is always keen to give concerts at a time suitable for young and older audiences and so as part of StonyLive! a tea time event seemed a good idea. Many people stayed on after the Handbell Concert on 8 June and took tea in the 15 minute interval.
The Band's theme was the Queen's 90th Birthday and music was chosen music to reflect Her Majesty's life. Featured in this concert was Highland Cathedral, specifically arranged for the Band with the organ and the audience heard its first performance at this concert.
Tea was served throughout and there was a jolly atmosphere and encouraging applause for the music and especially for our soloists Sheridan and Dave on the piano and Jacob on the organ.
The audience was encouraged to come again on Sunday afternoon to hear the Band again, enjoy a cream tea and look at the beautiful flower arrangements on the last day of the festival.
Donations from this concert and the preceding Handbell Concert raised £92.05 for the Disabled Access Fund.
