We always enjoy the Music Makers of Milton Keynes performing in St Mary and St Giles Church and tonight was no exception. Whilst there were many taking part in the barn dance on the Market Square, in SMSG there was a lovely concert for a summer evening underway.
Musical Director, Brian Dipple, led from the keyboard and introduced us to a variety of from songs 'Do Run Run' to 'Keep the Home Fires Burning' and 'Dashing away with the smoothing iron'. The choir items were interspersed with beautiful cello music provided by Frances Randall, accompanied by Brian.
After interval chat and refreshments, we all enjoyed a second half including Riverdance and 4 movements of a Handel Sonata for cello and recorder. The final song from the choir was 'Blackbird' from the Beatles' 'White Album'. This was repeated as an encore.
Thank you to the choir, Frances Randall and Brian Dipple for an inspiring and memorable evening.
The generous donations from the performers and the audience raised £105.49 for the Organ Fund.
