Stephen Taylor gave us the chance to hear some great favourites this lunchtime, including Elgar’s Chanson de Matin, Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss and Dambusters March by Eric Coates.
He also set us a TV theme tune quiz! He had arranged eight well-known themes from popular television programmes and asked us to name them – there was a lot of memory recall going on.
Stephen also brought us Praeludium in D by Buxtehude, Frank Martin’s Agnus Dei for Organ and Invocation by Denis Bedard, together with a Trumpet Tune for Organ by Robert Ampt. A lovely programme of the familiar and not-so-well-known, presented by a very fine organist and friend of St Mary & St Giles.
