This U3A ensemble brought extra sunshine to St Mary & St Giles Church on a bright spring day. Ten adults, learning or returning to their instruments after a break, gave a very jolly concert and encouraged all the audience to join in with a variety of hand-held percussion.

We heard music from The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night, All My Lovin’, Eleanor Rigby and Yesterday. Feet were tapping to Little Brown Jug and Mr Sandman and voices were raised for Dancing Queen and Bye, Bye Love. We especially enjoyed the very uplifting Elmer’s Tune, even though it turned out to have been composed in an embalming establishment!

Thank you to Playpals for sharing their music and sense of fun with us and we look forward to hearing them again next year.
