James conducts the 2014 Come & Sing Day

We are holding a Choral Come & Sing Day on Saturday 7th November 2015 when we will be singing Gabriel Faure's wonderful Requiem, conducted by James Wharton with piano accompaniment played by Ed Tomlinson.  The Requiem received the most votes in the poll for what to sing after the 2014 Come & Sing day.  Come and fill the nave of St Mary & St Giles church with singers and learn or rediscover this glorious music.  For the performance at 4:30 pm the audience sit around the sides of the nave.

We have emailed everyone who joined us for the 2013 and 2014 Choral days and will be delighted to welcome new singers to St Mary and St Giles church for this event as well.  Singers need to book their places in advance and the costs are the same as last year and include score hire, tea/coffee and cake:

  • Singer tickets £16 (full time students and job seekers £8)
  • Audience tickets £3 (free to full time students and job seekers)

On the day singers need to register from 9:15 am, with rehearsals in four sessions from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, with plenty of breaks.  We will finish the day with an informal performance at 4:30 pm, finishing by 5:30 pm latest.

You can book your place online this year - see the Come & Sing day page for details.

This event is a fundraiser for the Organ Project.
