On Saturday 5th October, in the afternoon, local music teacher Frances Thornton hosted a concert in St Mary & St Giles church. A variety of her pupils of all ages and levels played either flute, piano or recorder for our entertainment. For several it was a first time performance in a public event however they kept their nerves well under control and provided a delightful afternoon of music. The concert was free entry with some cakes for the interval provided by the families of the musicians and the rest from the church family. All donations for the refreshments raised a magnificent £167.84 for the organ fund. I would like to thank Frances and all her pupils and their families for their support for the organ fund in this way.
Below are a few photos of some of the performances.
