Jacob at the piano

Jacob at the piano

On Thursday 15th October 2015 Jacob Collins played the piano for 45 minutes, almost nonstop for the Third Thursday @ Twelve Thirty lunchtime concert.

We were treated to the emotive tunes of 'Chariots of Fire' and 'Hogwarts' Hymn' and the gaiety of 'I wanna be like you' and 'Wallace and Gromit'. Jacob took us on a tour of his favourite film music, which had to include excerpts from 'The Pirates of the Caribbean', 'Jurassic Park' and 'Harry Potter'.

All pieces were played with sensitivity and enthusiasm and conveyed Jacob's love of the music. It was such a great contrast to the music many of us had heard him play at the August TT@TT with Joe Laredo.

At the end there were comments of 'What a great treat for a lunchtime!' and 'I'm so glad I saw the poster outside the church and came in!'

Donations of £65.51 were collected for the Organ Fund and we all had a lovely time - even the organ builders took time out to eat their lunch and join the audience. Thank you all!
