It is only a few days away from the annual national Heritage Open Days weekend and we are gearing up for two special events at St Mary & St Giles church.
The Pipe Organ Restoration Open Day is on Saturday 12th September from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm when you can see INSIDE the Willis organ in the final stages of the restoration work (the organ builders have been installing some pipes, the swell and choir shutters and plenty of wind trunking recently so there is a lot of progress to see since the open morning in June). We will be serving delicious refreshments all day too. For more details about this event see Pipe Organ Restoration Open Day.
On Sunday 13th September is the Stony Stratford Story Stroll -take an hour’s stroll round town and through Stony Stratford's infamous history, retold through a fusion of story and poetry, presented by professional storyteller Red Phoenix and poet Richard Frost. This entertaining tour will appeal to people of all ages. Return to the parish hall for a welcome cup of tea. This is a free event with donations for the Organ project - booking is essential as places limited to 30. Book your place online:
