On Sunday, 3rd June we enjoyed the Goldfinch Concert, the second of our StonyLive concerts.
‘Goldfinch combine the magic of old Hollywood with new and original songs of today. Having performed for Sir Tim Rice, Sir Michael Parkinson and at sell out shows at The London Jazz Festival, their vintage sound is truly unmissable.’
This concert more than lived up to the description above!
Featuring Martyna Wren (voice) and John Bowman (piano), accompanied by double bass, cello and violin, Goldfinch certainly gave us a very special easy listening experience. Martyna’s beautiful songs and John’s stunning arrangements were performed by five very talented musicians, to the great delight of the audience. The final song, summed up the whole evening... ‘What the world needs now is love, sweet love’.
All the ticket money from this concert will go to the work of local children’s music charity, The Notivate Trust, which supports therapeutic and educational song writing and recording projects in the UK, Uganda and Madagascar. For more information, visit www.notivate.org
