The annual Stony Stratford Christmas Lights switch on day is always a festive day at St Mary & St Giles Church.
The church hosts a Christmas fayre all day which involves music (children from the local schools and the church band), several stalls and lots of warming refreshments.
The Music for All @ SMSG team always run the Golden Spot Tombola (invented by Sylvia Lovesey and run every year in her memory), with Kath, Nina and Marilyn co-ordinating all the prize gathering beforehand and making up the hampers from donations which are the Golden spot prizes.
This was the first year I missed the event entirely because I was overseas for work, however my daughter took some photos of the Golden Spot Tombola before the crowds started winning prizes. It raised £771 for the organ maintenance fund, a magnificent total.
