Listening to Doreen and friends

As the sun came out on Sunday afternoon of 5 June, Stony Stratford had much to offer – a Classic car Festival in the town centre, a Big Lunch on the Wolverton Road Recreation Ground and much music and drama in many locations.

Doreen Griffin and friends had offered an afternoon drop-in style concert in the St Mary and St Giles Church and even as they were setting up in advance of the 2.30pm advertised start time, audience started to arrive.  They were treated to some pre-concert music and the tea was already brewed for thirsty visitors!

The two hours flew by with such delightful music and over 100 guests who came to hear and take a break with tea and cake.  Some stayed for every note and they were thrilled by the beautiful singing, mellifluous flute and fun piano duets.  A delightful afternoon!  Thank you all.
