Even if you didn't attend Ben Westlake's wonderful concert in February I'm sure you'll want to see his competition performance for the BBC Young Musician of the Year award in the Woodwind section.  I have just been reliably informed by Ben's mother that this will be shown on television on Friday 7th May at 7.30 pm on BBC4, and afterwards on the BBC iPlayer.

Ben and his brother James, who plays the flute, are returning to give another concert in St Mary & St Giles church on Sunday 27th June at 3.00 pm this time for the Organ fund.  Cathy says:

"Ben has worked out a great programme which will include two solo pieces by Daniel King Smith and a trio with Ben, James and Daniel (Saint Saens Tarentella). Ben will be performing the Rigoletto Fantasy, Debussy Premier Rhapsody and Brahms in E Flat + other pieces. James is going to play some Jazz,  Saint Saens Romance, and Claire de Lune. I think that there will be something for everyone."

So put both the TV date and the concert date in your diary now, and prepare yourself for another aural treat.
